v6.5 — Maintenance Window Planner
Added:Maintenance Window Planner (Advanced). List the steps of a change and what each waits for, and it shows whether the plan fits your window, the critical path, the point of no return and a go/no-go time for every step, planning around the people you have. During the window, live mode tracks what's actually done, re-forecasts, says when to roll back, keeps a log and ends with a plan-versus-actual summary. The scheduling was checked against a separate version on tens of thousands of random plans.
v6.4 — Find Command Builder
Added:Find Command Builder (System & Linux). Build a find command from a form, or paste one to have it explained and checked. It catches the mistakes that delete the wrong files, like -delete before the conditions, -size -1M matching only empty files and unquoted patterns, and shows a check-first command before any delete. Every command it builds was run against real GNU find.
v6.3 — Git Rescue
Added:Git Rescue (System & Linux). Choose what went wrong in git, or paste your git status, and get the exact commands to fix it, in order, with each step labelled by how risky it is. It covers 14 situations, from undoing a commit to a pushed password, and every fix was tested against real git.
v6.2 — Tar, Chmod, Blog Links & RSS
Added:Tar Command Builder (System & Linux). Build the exact command to create, extract or list an archive with any compression, or paste a tar command to have every flag explained, with common mistakes flagged and GNU-only options marked.
Upgraded:Chmod Calculator. It now handles the special bits (setuid, setgid and sticky, as in 4755, 2775 and 1777), decodes a permission string pasted from ls -l (even a whole line), explains file types and the +, . and @ markers, and includes a umask calculator.
Added:From the blog. Fifteen dashboard tools and three full-page tools now list related posts from My SysAd Blog under the tool.
Upgraded:News page. The Advisories tab became Advisories & Patches, with CISA, Microsoft, Ubuntu, Debian and SANS ISC. Cloud status now covers 12 providers, resolved incidents show green, Subscribe (RSS) gives a real feed for each tab, and feeds show their own name instead of just "RSS".
Added:RSS feed for new blog posts at /feed.xml, linked from the Archive page and every new post.
v6.1 — Scratchpad, Shortcuts & Small Screens
Added:📝 To Scratchpad. Quick tools have a button that adds their result to your Scratchpad, under a line with the tool's name and the time, so results from several tools collect in one place. Password Generator and SSH keys are left out on purpose, since the Scratchpad is saved on your device.
Added:Keyboard shortcuts list. Press ? on the dashboard, or click the Ctrl+K hint in the search box, to see every shortcut.
Added:Visit counts without cookies (Vercel Web Analytics) on the main pages. The counted address never includes anything after ? or #, so tool inputs and shared links stay in your browser. The Privacy Policy describes exactly what is recorded, replacing an outdated mention of Speed Insights.
Improved: The All Tools page (/tools/) is now in the sitemap.
Fixed: On the narrowest phones (320px wide), the menu button no longer runs off the edge of the top bar.
Fixed: The Help page's shortcut list said Esc closes an open tool. It doesn't; the list now matches what the keys do.
Added:Shareable tool links. Every tool has its own address (for example mysysad.com/#chmod), and the browser tab shows the tool's name, so tools can be bookmarked or sent to a teammate. Eleven tools also have a 🔗 Copy link button that shares what you typed (mysysad.com/#cidr=10.0.0.0/22). Everything after the # stays in the browser and never reaches a server.
Added:Full keyboard access. Tab, Enter and Space now work on tool cards, pins, quick chips, tool tabs and recent tools, with a visible focus ring.
Added: Direct links to every News tab (news.html#cves, #status, #jobs and more), plus "Open this tool" links throughout Help.
Added:The MySysAd archive is back. All 429 posts from My SysAd Blog (2006–2014) are at their original addresses again, so old links and bookmarks work. Each post notes what has changed since it was written and reminds you to check it before using it on a live system, and the Archive page lets you search them by title or topic.
Added:Works offline, installs as an app. After your first visit, MYSYSAD opens and runs with no connection: the dashboard's local tools, the World Clock, the Scratchpad, and every tool and archive post you've opened before. Chrome, Edge, Android and Safari can install it as an app. When you're online you always get the latest version.
Added:Starter buttons. An empty World Clock offers a set of sample clocks, and until you pin a tool of your own, the pinned section offers a starter set of six everyday tools. Both only add, never replace, and the pin offer can be dismissed.
Added:World Clock Backup. One button saves your clocks to a JSON or YAML file, restores them from one, and clears them. Restoring asks whether to add the file's clocks to yours (skipping any you already have) or replace yours, and clearing asks first.
Improved: The World Clock toolbar is down to four clearly labeled buttons (Backup, Copy times, Analog faces and Sort), each with a hover hint. Sorting by name, time zone or country now lives in one Sort menu, and no button runs off the edge of the panel anymore.
Improved: News tabs load much faster, and tabs viewed in the last few minutes reopen instantly.
Improved: More reliable feeds. One slow source can no longer stall a whole tab, and the CVE feed now sends only the newest entries.
Improved: The Privacy Policy, Terms, About and Help pages now list exactly which tools contact outside services (marked 📡) and every server endpoint the site uses.
Improved: A complete sitemap covering every tool page.
Fixed: The Status tab no longer reports "All systems operational" when it can't reach the status service.
Fixed: World Clock YAML export and import.
Fixed: Light and dark mode now carry across the main pages.
